Aerospace
Aerospace Grade Grease: formulated to resist corrosion and rust and for highly loaded gears and bearings to achieve superior load-carrying ability; safe in chemical and oxygen services; long-lasting; antiwear protection; provides radiation stability. Aerospace greases are formulated by combining Krytox 143 Aerospace Oil with a special high efficiency thickener Krytox 2000 PTFE with a melting point of 325°C (617°F).
Aerospace greases are available in three standard grades. Within each grade, greases are formulated with oils having various viscosities and vapor pressures.
Krytox 240 Series: white buttery grease, same properties as 143 oils but in grease form.
Krytox 250 Series: extreme pressure black grease, contains molybdenum disulfide, use for highly loaded gears or bearings.
Krytox 283 Series: anti-corrosion white grease, contains sodium nitrate, rust protection at ambient temperature, corrosion protection at high temperature.
